'एंग्लो सैक्सन के युग की घटनाएं' नमाक पुस्तक जो कि 1996 में प्रकाशित हुई है ने आशूरा के दिन सन 61 हिजरी में -जो कि एक एहतिहासिक और सदैव याद की जाने वाली घटना है- इग्लैंड में ख़ून की बारिश का ज़िक्र किया है।

समाचार एजेन्सी अलजवार ने इसको बयान करते हुए लिखाः 'एंग्लो सैक्सन के युग की घटनाएं' जो कि एंग्लो सैक्सन के ऐतिहासिक स्रोतों में से एक है, का माइकल स्वाटर (MICHAEL SWANTON) द्वारा अनुवाद और संपादन किया गया है।

यह पुस्तक 1996 में इग्लैंड में प्रकाशित हुई है, और 1998 में ईस्टर विश्वविद्यालय द्वारा न्यूयार्क में दोबारा प्रकाशित की गई। इस पुस्तक के 38वें पेज पर यह वाक्य लिखा हुआ हैः (685. Here in Britain there was Bloody rain, and milk and butter were turned to blood)

अनुवादः 685 ईसवीं में यहां ब्रिटेन में आसमान से ख़ून बरसा और दूध एवं मख्खन ख़ून में बदल गए और उनका रंग लाल हो गया।

A.D. 685. This year King Everth commanded Cuthbert to be

consecrated a bishop; and Archbishop Theodore, on the first day

of Easter, consecrated him at York Bishop of Hexham; for Trumbert

had been deprived of that see. The same year Everth was slain by

the north sea, and a large army with him, on the thirteenth day

before the calends of June. He continued king fifteen winters;

and his brother Elfrith succeeded him in the government. Everth

was the son of Oswy. Oswy of Ethelferth, Ethelferth of Ethelric,

Ethelric of Ida, Ida of Eoppa. About this time Ceadwall began to

struggle for a kingdom. Ceadwall was the son of Kenbert, Kenbert

of Chad, Chad of Cutha, Cutha of Ceawlin, Ceawlin of Cynric,

Cynric of Cerdic. Mull, who was afterwards consigned to the

flames in Kent, was the brother of Ceadwall. The same year died

Lothhere, King of Kent; and John was consecrated Bishop of

Hexham, where he remained till Wilferth was restored, when John

was translated to York on the death of Bishop Bosa. Wilferth his

priest was afterwards consecrated Bishop of York, and John

retired to his monastery (21) in the woods of Delta. This year

there was in Britain a bloody rain, and milk and butter were

turned to blood.

ध्यान दिए जाने योग्य बात यह है कि 685 ईसवीं का साल वही साल है जब 61 हिजरी में कर्बला का वाक़ेआ घटित हुआ जिसमें इमाम हुसैन (अ) और उनसे साथियों की शहादत हुई।

स्पष्ट रहे कि कुछ हदीसों में भी बयान किया गया है कि आशूरा के दिन आसमान ख़ून रोया। मिसाल के तौर पर हज़रत ज़ैनब (स) ने आशूरा के दिन लोगों के संबोधित करते हुए फ़रमायाः "أو عَجفبتم أن مَطَرت السماءف دماً" क्या तुम आसमान के ख़ून रोने पर आश्चर्य चकित हो?

सुन्नी किताबों में भी आया हैः

لما قتل الحسین اسودّت السماء وظهرت الکواکب نهاراً حتى رأیت الجوزاء عند العصر وسقط التراب الأحمر

रावी कहता है किः जब इमाम हुसैन (अ) शहीद कर दिए गए आसमान में अंधेरा छा गया और सितारे दिन में दिखाई देने लगे और मैंने जौज़ा सितारे को अस्र के समय देखा। इसी प्रकार उस दिन लाल मिट्टी आसमान से ज़मीन पर बरसी।

तारीख़ लिखने वालों ने कहा है किः इस दिन बैतुल मुक़द्दस में जिस भी पत्थर को उलटा जाता था उसके नीचे ताज़ा ख़ून
